I used to be love drunk

I'm SO BORED....
not a whole lot has happened this week...the most fun was on Tuesday, I went to the IT meeting at church, and I was planning on going to Top of the Park to see Princess Bride. After the IT meeting, James, Susie, Mitch and I just kind of hung out and none of us had had dinner, so we decided to go to Noodles & Co for dinner...it was fun :)
James and Susie are dating! woo!

Mitch didn't have a ride, so I took him back to our house because Kaitlyn was going, too and so was my mom, so my mom just drove us all in one car. We invited Susie, so she just met us there at like 9:30. Elena got there right before it started (at 10). Since we got there early, we had front-row seats in the chair section, and the blanket people were in front of us. Kaitlyn hadn't even seen Princess Bride yet, but she loved it. I've seen it a hundred times and I think it's a great movie. We ate popcorn and cotton candy and had a great time...but I didn't go to bed until 1 am :3

Consequently, Wednesday morning, I didn't hear my alarm go off, so I didn't wake up till 9, which is when my class starts. I got to school just before 10, and it wasn't too bad, because I got caught up and it wasn't that big of a deal. Yeah then I had school...blah and then at 7 was bible study at Byron's house. That was really fun. We split up into two groups, and I went in the basement with Rick, Alaine, Mac, Blake, Eliana, and Adalie. We pretty much just told stories and laughed the whole time (in between bible verses). After we had finished bible study, we usually walk over to Steak N' Shake. We started to, but then the tornado warning went off, so we had to head back into his basement until all the parents came. I left after some people had gone and the clouds had started to get really dark and the sky was starting to rumble and flash with lightening. I hate driving in storms, it freaks me out, so I was scare the whole way home, and then it started to pour. When I got home, I didn't really know what to do, so I just watched The Office in the dark living room, while the storm raged outside. I like thunderstorms...when I can watch them from inside. We lost power for about 30 seconds, but that was about it.

Thursday...I was planning on starting my paper for English class, but I didn't get to it, because the Contis came over, so I went swimming with them and Joel till lunchtime, and then Rachel came over, and we decided to do a photoshoot because...she has a cool camera, I guess. It was fun. Then at 2:30, I had to leave to get my haircut because I hadn't gotten it cut for about 5 months, and my hair grows really fast. It was starting to get boring and needed a trim, so I did that and also got layers. I like it a lot better now.

My parents and Joel left this morning for Chicago for the weekend, so once again, I'm alone. I had class this morning, then I was hungry so I went to McDonald's and got a cheeseburger, fries and their new frozen strawberry lemonade (<3) to go and ate at home while watching tv. Ah, to be free :)
After a while, I worked on my paper, which took about 20 minutes. It had to be an explanatory narrative essay, so like I had to explain how to do something by telling a story that's entertaining, so I told a story about giving Delilah a bath this one time...oh, memories...
and now I'm bored out of my brains

I have to wait until 5 to go to Kaitlyn's birthday party...but I still gotta pack. Apparently we're going mini-putting and watching movies and stuff and sleeping over. Tomorrow, I'm gonna go to IT and then...I don't really know, and then I'm spending the night at the Polk's house!!! :3
and we're gonna watch the Dark Knight and P.S. I love you and have a grand time. And maybe drink hot kool aid.

Ok that's all I have
Ciao

there's so much left of it, what am I gonna do with all this hot kool aid?!

This weekend was AMAZING. Seriously, it was so much fun :D
on friday after class, we (courtney, michael and my mom and I) left to go to Arcadia for the weekend. Also, Joel had been at 8th grade week, so we had to pick him up on Saturday. We brought Michael to surprise Joel.

So we drove up, stopped at Wendy's and got to the cottage at around 5pm. Courtney and I decided to go to Weihrman beach and take a walk because of the long drive and I took my camera. After our walk, we had dinner at the cottage and decided to go to the drive-in theater in Honor, Mich to see Toy Story 3. Man, is that an intense movie! It was really good. If you've never been to a drive-in theater, you should try to go. They're really fun.

After we got back, Courtney and I went up to the coach house, which is where we were staying and watched tv and old home videos of me up at the cottage till 2 in the morning. Ah, the 90's. Such style.

On saturday, we woke up at 10, or rather, we were yelled at to get up. We walked around for a while and had lunch. After that, we went to south bluff. It was really fun and we ran down and then walked all the way back on the shore back to camp. Usually, it takes about two hours, but somehow we got back in one. It got kind of cloudy and cold at the end, so maybe we just hurried. We got back at around four and took showers and decided to have lunch at the new restaurant that used to be the Apple. When we went in, it was very crowded and noisy. We were seated but didn't get a server for at least five minutes. I decided on a pulled pork sandwhich, courtney and joel had pizza, michael had chicken wings, and mom had a chicken burrito. All the food except for the pizza was "okay", but not great. My sandwhich tasted sorta funny and it wasn't even really pulled pork, just chunks of it.

After that, we played games and watched tv until Evan Park came and told my mom that he and Matt needed a place to stay for the night, so they stayed in the basement. When he left, he said that he and all the other teens were playing a big game of hide and seek, so Courtney and I joined him. We didn't know where to hide, so we just waited until the next round, but apparently everyone had already been playing for a while, so they decided to stop. It was a big group of kids, probably about 20 of them. I saw a lot of people that I hadn't seen for a while and had a good time.

When courtney and I got back, we watched some of Disturbia on tv. It was super creepy because Shia Lebeuf thinks that his neighbor is a murder and stuff and so he spies on him and also this other girl that he has a crush on with his binoculars and it's really weird...we didn't watch the whole movie.

uhh oh Sunday we woke up at around nine and went to church at ten...then we went to the park and went on the merry-go-round for a while and just hung out. A little bit after 11:30, the Emington's got to our cottage to be up for the day (they live like an hour and half away) so we had burgers and hot dogs and sloppy joe for lunch. Then we wen to camp and played tennis and four square and shuffle board and then decided to go swimming and play on the new island that camp has. Everyone was there...everyone being the Emington's - 1 : Josh, Stephanie, Sarah, Liza, and the Mr. and Mrs. Then Courtney, Michael, Joel and I. Most of us played in the water for a while by the island and played freeze tag and bulldog. Then we just sat and tanned for a while...or in our cases, burned, because we didn't wear sunscreen... :3
Theeeen it was like 4pm, so we had to leave at 5 to get home at a reasonable hour so we didn't have time for showers. On the way back, I was shaking my head the whole time, getting sand out :P
We watched Ocean's eleven on the little dvd players in the car and played games and whatnot. Then we stopped at KFC and had wonderful, fattening food. A large bucket of chicken wings and thieghs, (sp?!) a huge cup of pink lemonade, mashed potatoes, and corn.

Favorites quotes of the weekend....
I feel bad for anyone named Tina. Who's fat....and is...made out of...lard.

Any of the TWSS jokes of the weekend.

Brother. Please. Drink. My. Hot. Kool aid.

this time, baby, I'll be bulletproof

I got sillybandz. Oh yeah. The outer space ones that glow in the dark. I found them at Hot Topic. I tried to look everywhere else today with Courtney for more but we didn't find any. We went to CVS, Walmart, and Hallmark. Sooooooo yeah.
Today was fun...I woke up at around 11 and then after a while went to Courtney's. I had stopped at the restaurant that work at, Asian Fuzion, and my boss gave me like 3 orders of potstickers (dumplings) and a crapload of fortune cookies. So we ate some and then went to all the different stores to try and find the dumb bracelets but we didn't, so we just got candy. Then we went to my house to go swimming, but Courtney didn't feel good but then she had some pepto bismol and felt better after a while, so we went swimming for a long time. It was pretty warm. We also played the penis game. After that, I took a bunch of pictures and stuff and we went inside and took a shower in our swimsuits in the basement shower, which is big. Then we made dinner (mac & cheese & hotdogs) and watched the office then played sims 2 and at 8:30 her mom came and picked her up.

Tomorrow I have geometry and then when I get home, Courtney and my mom and I are leaving for...(drumroll please) ARCADIA!!!! woohoo :D
We're really excited.
we're gonna watch movies and listen to music all the way up and take pictures. A lot of them.
hmmmmm so yeah I don't think I'll be updating over the weekend...but I'm finally working again on (next) Tuesday from 11 am.-2 pm (most likely) so you should come visit me. It's at Asian Fuzion...like across the street from Arbor land but further down. :D
their food is really good, too, if you like asian or thai food.

ciao,
Rach

Love addict

yeah I haven't written in a while. Not a lot has happened, I guess. I'm home alone because my mom and Joel left yesterday to go to Arcadia to drop him off for 8th grade week and my dad is on a trip. Also, I'm avoiding my homework.
I'm excited because my mom just told me that instead of going to Chicago this weekend, we're probably going to Arcadia :D whoop whoop
I wish I was done with school!!!

I bought more gobstoppers.

I slept at the Polk's house last night because I can't be alone at my house at night, I guess, so we watched Hairspray and Mr. Bean and stuff. It was fun :)

hmm...not a whole lot else is happening. I just want summer to start because it seems like it has for everyone else but me. Sometimes I hate being in college. But hey, it's free.

I'm drinking a lot of water to be "healthy".

I got a new book from the library. It's a mystery called "In the Woods" and I'll probably start to read it when I'm done with my hw.

Oh, on Friday, I went to Courtney's for a little while, and we played MASH with cards, and I played four times, and every time, I married Ike. He was not my choice, Courtney is just a poopface. She played too, and she married Ashton Kutcher or something. >:(

Oh, I forgot, on Saturday, I went to IT. :D
It was fun. Haha...
The theme was water so we had water balloon fights and stuff and I think our team won. Mitch and the rest of our team decided that our name was going to be the Space Ninja Turtles and Mitch would design and make the flag because he is an artist, of course ;) on the envelopes that the different team leaders get, it has the different seals or stickers or whatever of the different branches of the army, I guess, so we were the army because we were green, blue was air force (Ike and Elena), and yellow was the marine corps, I think. Anyway, the theme for the summer was the war room, so that's why we were the army and air force and stuff and we all wore dog tags.

One of the games that we played was making ice sculptures with ice cubes. Our team started to make a turtle, but it started to look like a platypus, so we took a big leaf from outside and used it as a beak, and then used one for a tale. It turned out pretty good, and Ike tried to get us disqualified because we had used something that wasn't ice, but Rick said that it was ok. >:)
We ended up winning because ours was the most creative.

At the end of the day, I don't remember who was winning overall, exactly, but I think it might have been yellow, green, blue or something.
It was a good day.

flat belly

I just read an article that was about how to get a flat belly. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, plus yogurt-based smoothies, don't drink fruit juices or pop or iced tea. Sounds pretty easy to me.

9.6.10

Is my love your drug?

Michigan is so bipolar
seriously, today it went from cold & cloudy to warm & sunny in a few hours.
weird.

yesterday, I slept in and then cleaned my room. Apparently we didn't have much at home for lunch, so we went out to a restaurant called House of Joy or something like that in Saline. It was ok but not nearly as good as Asian Fuzion. Then at one, I went to the Polk's house and played MarioKart and Melee on Gamecube for a while. Then we decided to go to the mall to shop and try out the new iPad. So that's what we did. When we were done, we got cinnamon sticks from Cinnabon. They were awesome :)
but they gave us two things of frosting that we didn't eat.
We dropped off sarah at her house to go to ballet and then Rachel and I went back to my house. We took the frosting with us and decided to eat it with the cinnamon bun cereal that we found. It was delish but very sugary. While we ate, we watched Alice in Wonderland but we didn't get to finish it because I needed to go the IT meeting at 6. So I dropped Rachel off at her house and by the time that I got to church, it was already 6:20, and thus somewhat pointless because the meeting didn't last much longer. When I walked in, I was informed that I was a leader with Mitch and Peter (ugh). I was satisfied and then even more happy when I found out that Pheobe Fink would be one of the Jr. High on our team.
The other leaders for the teams were Mitch's friend and Adalie on one team, and Ike and Elena on another. James, Susie, and Alaine run the whole show.

The first IT is this week. I'm excited :)
I'm trying to think of good names for our team. Our color for the flag is green, which was the same that I had last year and we were the Veloceraptors. So...I don't know what could be as cool.
Mitch suggested the Ninja Frogs, which is ok, I guess.
maybe we should be dragons. hmm...
if you have any suggestions, please comment :)

oh, also on Tuesday was the Glee finale. I have sort of given up on Glee's storyline, which is ridiculous, but I love the songs most of the time. One of the songs this week was Bohemian Rhapsody, which was amazing. Quinn had her baby. They didn't even win sectionals (or regionals or whatever it was)
oh well

I've been playing Sims 2 a lot lately...it's so much fun :)
right now, Gerard and I have Kaitlyn, Lilly, and Oliver. Kaitlyn and Oliver just had their birthdays, so now they're a teen and a toddler and Lilly is still a kid.

Nothing really happened today...Mrs. Zimmerman was the sub today in geometry for Mrs. Cialek, which is a relief because I hate Mrs. Cialek. Mrs. Zimmerman found out that she is pregnant, which is great, but that also means that she has to leave eventually, which stinks, because she's the best math teacher ever. Then I had English class...that was fun. It was pretty much just making up stories and stuff. It's such an easy class.

On my way home from school, I stopped at the library and got Hairspray, Moulin Rouge, and Mr. Bean and then stopped to get gas for my car. When I got home, I watched Moulin Rouge...it was kinda weird but pretty good, I guess. It's a movie that's a musical about Moulin Rouge, obviously, and a prostitute that falls in love with this guy and...it's hard to describe, but in the end, she gets sick and dies! ugh. I hate sad endings.

My favorite musicals are by far Singin' in the Rain (Gene Kelly FTW!!) and Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler FTW!!), both the movies and the plays.

I found out that in the fall EAP (Ever After Productions) will be doing Hairspray! I'm definitely trying out (hopefully)! I love that movie.

Tomorrow isn't totally planned out exactly, but I know that we're going to Sam's Club, my favorite bulk grocery store, and possibly going to Briarwood later to see a movie...probably The Losers. The other movies there are like, Alice, which we have, and Bounty Hunter, which I love because of Gerard Butler, but I haven't seen the Losers yet, soooooo yeah.
I don't know what else I'll do. Hang out and stuff. It's nice not having school every day.

I ran out of Gobstoppers
anyone wanna buy me some?

I love my youth group

oh my.
where to begin? I'm at home, tired and smelling like campfire smoke. The sure sign of an awesome weekend. Which it was.
I went on a leadership retreat with all the sites of St. Luke Lutheran church, meaning it wasn't just the youth group from SLAA, but it was the majority.
We left on friday at 6 (ish) to drive up to Hale, MI to a Lutheran camp that was on Loon Lake. It took about 3 hours but it was fun. I think we took four or five cars, including the people from Living Water (our other branch). There was a van, as usual, filled with mostly Jr. high kids and Byron was driving, the Jeep that Susie was driving that was filled with Finks, the Living Water cars, and Alaine and Rick's car, which Mitch and I rode in. The ride up was ok, but the ride back was better. We tried to think of as many games as we could to play in the car, but that lasted for about an hour...and we mostly just talked a lot. Eventually, Mitch laid down sideways with his head resting next to my leg and his legs basically up on the window...apparently it was comfortable because he fell asleep but I plugged his nose so he sounded funny. After a while, we stopped at this little ice cream shop in the middle of nowhere. It was awesome because it was like a swarm of kids going into this tiny shop and the people there were very confused. I had some sort of caramel brownie type ice cream and Susie had a flavor called Play-doh and that's what it looked like. It was bright yellow with little chunks of cookie dough that were colored blue and red. Also, there was a crane machine and Mitch won an elephant, so of course Ike had to try, but he lost twice.
When we got to the place, which was back in a wooded area with lots of little cabins and such, it was all muddy and rainy. We unpacked all of our stuff and went into a big building. It had a kitchen and then a main rec. room with ping pong, air hockey, and fooseball, and tables and couches and stuff. The girls' room was on one side, the boys ' on the other. We just hung out for a while and my friend Emily and I looked around because we'd never been there before, but apparently St. Luke's went several years ago because Susie says that she remembers going when she was younger. So then at around 10:30, we started to play Animal Crackers. If you don't know how to play, then too bad because I'm not explaining, but if you do, my animal was a Jellyfish and my sign for it was I would dangle my hand so that my fingers looked like the tentacles and then make it swim. It was awesome. Emily was roadkill, so that was just clapping your hands together really loudly like you hit something with your car, and Susie was a kitten, so she had cat ears. That lasted for a while, and apparently we used Ike's pillow, but then he complained about us abusing it, but he was the one that had brought it out in the first place, so it didn't make any sense. Also, Ryan Sikorski was a fish, and every time someone called on him, he would say "Fish, jellyfish!" because apparently it's easy to say right after you say fish. So I got called on a lot. Everyone liked mine though, so it was all good.
We had a little devotion and worship time after that but we went to bed at around 11:30. I didn't get a lot of sleep because I was cold and kept waking up. The next morning, we woke up at around 7:15 for people who wanted to take showers because breakfast was at 8:30, so I took a shower. Breakfast was provided by the camp, and it was cereal and sausage and eggs and ... I don't remember what else because I didn't have much. After breakfast, we did personality tests because we were learning about different personality types and how they work together (and don't work together). The biggest group was the Expressives, the loud and obnoxious and fun ones, which was my group. Then the Amiables, the friendly, peaceful ones were pretty big. Then there were the Drivers, the ones who want to get the job done even when it's not fun, and the Analysts...or something like that, the ones who are quietly brilliant and think things through before they say something. Also, I was a teller, not a follower.

one annoying thing about the weekend was that every time that someone said "Mitchell" to say something to Mitch, I thought they were saying "Rachael". One time, I said to James, "Can you please just call Mitchell....Mitch? Because I keep thinking that you're saying my name, but he was like "Nope, I'm probably just going to call you Rach...or dumb butt." and of course, Ike had to chime in "or fartface". I hit them with pens. I felt that's what the deserved.

Anyway, we also learned how to work together with the different personality types and then started to work on the leadership-type things. We had to make our own devotionals in small groups, so I was with Emily and Niaomi (Thad's sister). When we were first working on it before lunch, we didn't come up with much. Our topic was courage and our Bible verse was Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
so...we came up with a few things, but then we went to lunch, which was sandwiches, chips, cookies, pudding, etc. It was pretty good. The weather was ok, so I sat outside with James, Susie, Alaine, Rick, and Mitch. If you don't know, we have our own little church family. So far, Susie and James are married, (but James is a bad father), and Mitch and Elena and I are the children. So Mitch and I always call Susie "mom" or Mother or Mommy or something like that and we always are mad at James because he's an alcoholic, he cheats with a librarian apparently, and he does drugs and we're poor but sometimes he feeds us. So that's our family's story.
Anyway, after we were done eating, it was quiet study time for people that wanted to relax/do homework from 1-2:30, so Susie and Mitch and I went to go find the lake. We did, but it wasn't very exciting. Although we all found our own 4-leaf clovers. Then Sam found a tetherball pole so I watched people play that for a while. Sam is good, Mitch sucks but wins by making people laugh, and Ike sucks but his excuse was "I haven't played this for 3 years but I used to play it at camp blah blah blah". I'm bad but have no excuse. Bad eye-hand coordination? or is it hand-eye?
When the hw time was over, we went into the woods for a challenge course. We split into two teams because we had 24 people total. People on my team were Sam, Emily, Mitch, Ashley, Susie, etc...I don't remember the rest. If you've never been on a challenge course in the woods, then you are missing out. So we did all those team-bonding ones, or rather, you need balance to do ALL of these. Which we don't. So we didn't pass almost all of them, but it was still fun. We didn't pass the one where you have to stand on a little platform and stay off the ground for 3 seconds because you have to fit all of the people on and it's meant for 4 people at best, but it is possible. So we tried a lot of different ways, but we ran out of time. We passed the web one where each person uses one hole each and there's a little bell at the top of the ropes, and if you make it jingle, then you have to go back out. That one didn't take long. Another one looked like a small rock-climbing wall without the rocks. Flat on one side, but some footholds of wood on the other. Sam pretty much did a lot of work on all of the courses lifting people over things or whatever because we didn't have very many big guys. My favorite was when both of the teams came together at the end and had to get across a knee-high creek by swinging on a rope. Also, there were tires on the ground on the other side of the creek, so when you landed, you had to land with both feet in a tire, and only one person per tire. The first 12 people went and then we switched. If people didn't make it into a tire the first time across, the had to swing back, but people don't know how to swing on a rope apparently, so they were too low and got themselves all wet and I laughed. When it was my turn, Nick and Ryan helped me into one of the back tires because you have to fill them all up. The first time, I didn't make it into the tire, so I had to try again, but I got up high on the rope and I didn't get wet. I was one of the few who didn't get wet because most people slipped in because it was muddy, they got pushed, or they're not good at swinging. I think the only person besides me that didn't get wet was Ryan because Ike wasn't wet at first, but then Sam pushed him in and then he got pissed. It was funny.

When I was on one side, and Mitch and James were on the other, I was just standing there when all of a sudden, something hit my jaw at full blast. I was so confused, but then I realized that it was mud. Everyone saw it and I started to laugh and so did everyone else, and Ike and James were just standing there with their mouths open in surprise and I heard Mitch saying "I'm sorry, Rachael!". Apparently, he had been "aiming at Sam" who had been walking past, but it hit me square in the jaw, and I got some in my mouth. I shook it off a spit a lot, but it was fine. When I got across, James gave me a handfull of mud, which he had molded to look like poop, apparently, and I smushed it in Mitch's face. Ah, sweet revenge.
Molding mud into poop...I'm so glad that I have mature group leaders.

After that, everyone was either fully muddy or wet, or both and so we headed back. I wasn't very muddy or wet, although I was probably more muddy than anything else, because it was impossible not to be muddy out there. It was also impossible not to be eaten by mosquitoes. Ugh. We had some free time after we changed or showered, so...we just hung out and stuff I think. Dinner was awesome. It was chicken breasts and thighs and wings, mounds of mashed potatoes, and gravy, and brownies. Delicious. I sat with my "family" and discussed whether or not Mean Girls is a chick flick. I thought it was because I've never ever heard a guy say that Mean Girls is a good movie, but all of the Finks beg to differ, apparently. They like it. I was impressed.

After dinner, Emily and I finished our devotion, made up a last minute story that actually turned out to be a hit, and then played card-version MASH. I went first, and I could have two celebrity husbands and two real people, so I chose Gerard Butler, Jim from the Office, and Susie chose Mitch and Ike. I ended up marrying Gerard Butler, of course, we had lots of love and like 4 girls and we dated for a while but I don't remember how long. Then Susie went but in the end, after all that she had done to play the game, the Joker card was on the floor, thus not marrying anyone. But then it was time for the bonfire/devotions, so she was determined to finish later. The bonfire was pretty cool, but since we showed up kinda late because of MASh, Susie, James and I sat on a bench farthest away from the fire because there was no room. Since it was raining, we had the fire underneath an overhang, but our bench was very close to the outside of the overhang, so my hood was getting wet. Eventually, we moved it up, and James and I traded spots because his legs were too long to sit in his spot. All of us were cold, so Susie and I basically cuddled.

When it was my turn to go up for devotions, I was warmer because it was by the fire. I did the intro, Emily did the "problem" part, and Niaomi did the "solution". So, the last-minute story that I made up went a little something like this.
"You're on a camping trip with you friends. You hear about a guy on the loose with a machete and he wears a hockey mask. When camping, you hear something suspicious outside. You go to investigate, and there is Jason Voorhees himself, about to chop off your head. "Any last words?" he says. What would you say?

This was the part where anyone could answer the question, and, as expected, hands shot up. James' answer was : Your mother never loved you. (also, as he tells me later, Jason Voorhees never learned to talk...like I was supposed to know that. I never even saw the movies)
Ike's answer:......(thinks about it) Do I get a request from him (no)...am I going to die no matter what? (yes)...
then he over-analyzed it so I just went to the next person.
so no exact answer from him, but whatever. There were others, but they were sort of lame. Anyway, the point of the story was, would you have enough COURAGE to tell Jason Voorhees himself about God's love and what He did for us?
everyone liked it, especially Byron and the leaders, and they thought that it was a good story because everyone found it interesting and could relate to it because it was something that they understood. I was really surprised because I thought that it was stupid, but I guess it worked. So I was happy. :)

after devos and worship, Susie and I sat closer to the fire and played hot buns, which is a game where you but your but as close as the fire as you can put it and then yell "who wants hot buns?!" and someone says "I do!" and then they get sat on with hot buns. Then we went inside and played card MASH for James, Susie, and Ryan because Ryan didn't even know what we were doing, so he said that he wanted to marry Nala from the Lion King, but we had to explain to him that he couldn't marry a lion, so he promptly stated "fine, I pick T-Swift" which sounds like a gangster name for her, but whatever. In the morning, we got up at 8, left at 8:30. Mitch and I went in the big van, which Sam was driving. I wanted to sit in the front, but then he asked if I was one of the "expressives" and I reluctantly said yes because I knew that he wouldn't let me if I said yes, so he told one of the "amiable" people to go up. The ride back was a lot of fun because Sam is just a really good leader and nothing is ever boring with him. We played a lot of Would You Rather and a game that he made up, which was he would say a band or a topic and whoever sang (or yelled, in our case) out a song by them first got a point. If it was a topic, he would say "sing a song about trains, houses, etc." and I got a point with the house one because I started to sing "she's a brick house" and he gave me a high five. We stopped at Mickey D's and I had pancakes and a hot chocolate and we also stopped at a gas station and got candy and gas and I got Gobstoppers of course.
In the car, we had balloons, and so we played "blow up your balloon, tie it, put it in your lap, now pop everyone else's balloon!" and whoever had their balloon not popped at the end won. I lost.
Then we got back to church and left and that was pretty much it.

What can I say about my youth group? It's crazy, it's dysfunctional, it's silly, it's amazing, it's loud, it's diverse, it's indescribable. We've grown and shrunk, we've been around for a long time and we have a great group of kids.

One Saturday night, all of the sites of the church split up to talk about upcoming things and what we'd like to see happen in our youth group. We talked about this summer and the fall. Susie and James will be around this summer, but Susie is going back to school in the fall in Wisconsin and James is moving to Boston for...I don't know how long, but to breed dogs with his family or something...I didn't get all the info but it sounded random, but I guess he needs money, which makes sense. In 2-3 years, most of the Sr.High will be graduating, Ike will probably be off in some war, Adalie and Elena...well, I think Elena wants to go into physical therapy and Adalie...I'm not really sure, but I hope she marries Derek. Hopefully I'll make something of myself in photography...I don't want to think about growing up.

I'll just enjoy what we have as a youth group right now. I like it this way.

What can I say? I love my youth group. They're the best, they're my spiritual family, they're my best friends, and they grow along with me in Christ, helping me along the way. :) :) :D

Love always,
~Rachael

texting?

Apparently I can blog from my phone by texting. Interesting. Well, I'm done with my paper! Whoo!

26 days till July

I really like how I can put music from playlist.com because it's free and you can listen to it anytime you want. Pandora is cool too, but it's a lot more limited.
I'm still eating Gobstoppers. I just can't stop.

Every time I sneezed this morning in geometry class, I had to run to the bathroom because I probably had gross snot running down my face or hand...ugh. Why can't they just have tissues in the classrooms??
We also measured ice cream tubs, ice cream scoopers, and an ice cream cone to see how much ice cream we could have for the whole class (25 people) and then we had the ice cream :)
except for me because the flavors were root beer float (EW) and this cherry chocolate chunk kind...I tried it, but it was weird. oh well.
also, we measured this weird vitamin pill with the powder in it...you know, like it's clear so you can see through it? well, even though I can't smell anything, the pill (or powdery stuff that was in it) smelled so bad that even I could smell it. I think somebody opened one of them.

Matt is hot. Ok :)

ok, off to write my paper and then go on the retreat with the youth group.

P.S. If you have any suggestions of songs to put on my playlist that you particularily like, please don't hesitate to comment and tell me. If you don't mind the music that plays while you read, then enjoy!
It's all the way at the bottom, if you want to change the song

let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings

today was interesting.
I finished the outline of my paper and then did all my chores, then went to go pick up Kaitlyn from her house. We came back and went swimming for a while...it took forever for her to get in even though the pool was like 80*
and...oh then we took a shower in our swim suits in the basement shower cuz it's big and then we made...burgers. All by ourselves. And I flipped a burger when it still had cheese on it. So I gave it to Joel.
and then we watched this week's episode of Glee because I'd missed it. I honestly don't care all that much about Glee, I just like the music (oh, we got the funk...). The storyline is way out of control, but I am watching the Finale for sure. Will is so hot.
I painted Kaitlyn's toenails blue but it was hard because her toenails are tiny. And it didn't help that she messed them up.
Then we played Sims 2 for a little while but then her dad came and picked her up. So far, I made me and Gerard Butler (we're married, of course) and Kaitlyn is our child (how does that work?) and so is Lilly but Lilly is a toddler. I started to make the house, but that's the most boring part.
I can't smell anything because of my stupid nose. I've been sneezing all day and I hate it :( I'm not even allergic to anything. Who knows, maybe I'm beginning to be.
I don't know what else to write about...I officially have 2 followers! yay! well, and Kaitlyn, but she doesn't have a blog.

there's no point in the summer to curl my hair because it just comes out anyway, which sucks. I miss my long hair...please come back fast.

I want my nose to die

Til Kingdom Come

Still my heart and hold my tongue
I feel my time
My time has come
Let me in
Unlock the door
I never felt this way before

And the wheel just keeps on turning
The drummer begins to drum
I don’t know which way I’m going
I don’t know which way I’ve come

Hold my head inside your hands
I need someone who understands
I need someone, someone who hears
For you I’ve waited all these years

For you I’d wait 'til kingdom come
Until my day, my day is done
And say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

In your tears and in your blood
In your fire and in your flood
I hear you laugh, I heard you sing
I wouldn’t change a single thing
And the wheels just keep on turning
The drummers begin to drum
I don’t know which way I’m going
I don’t know what I’ve become

For you I’d wait 'til kingdom come
Until my days, my days are done
And say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me

music is life; Coldplay is love

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow

So then I took my turn
Oh all the things I've done
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know you know I love you so
You know I love you so

I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh all the things you do
Cause you were all yellow

I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know for you i bleed myself dry
For you i bleed myself dry

Its true look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine
look at the stars look how they shine for you

12 days of school left

but still about 3 1/2 weeks left because I don't have school everyday, only M-W-F. Sigh.
today is going to be cleaning, paper-writing and swimming, possibly. That paper is due on monday and I'm going on a retreat with church almost all weekend so...I have to work on it today and tomorrow after school before I leave to go on the retreat. ugh.

last night, while taking my shower, I was thinking about school and college and stuff. No big deal, right?
I started to cry
at first, I didn't know why, but then I was just thinking "God, I need you, please help me" and I realized that I can't do this school and college thing without God. It's been hard deciding what I want to do after WCC. Do I need to go to another 4-year college? should I just try to get a job after WCC?
all that stuff
I'm not a fan of school. Or big decisions.

on the up-side, we might go see Toy Story 3 for kaitlyn's party and go to Red Robin for dinner, which will be awesome.
last night on ABC family, the Pixar short films were on. All of them. It was awesome. my favorites were the Toy Story ones, the really old ones, just to laugh at the bad animation (a la the ugly baby in The Tin Toy), Mater's Tall Tales, and of course the Wall-e ones. I love Wall-e. But not as much as I love Up. Now that is a classic movie.

I like Timbits

look at the stars; look how they shine for you

I came home early from school today.
Just in time for my dad to call me and say that he needed to be picked up from Sesi Volvo because his car was being worked on. So I picked him up, then we went on some errands and stuff and they had candy on sale so now I am eating Gobstoppers to my heart's content.
I love Gobstoppers.
Also, we went to the library to get a movie, so we got a movie called Dan in Real Life. The main dude is Steve Carell, one of my favorite actors. It looks pretty funny.
I don't have work tomorrow, so I get to sleep in. And work on my paper. And go to Courtney's to swim, hopefully, unless it's rainy again.

Don't you hate it
when you spend 20 minutes curling your hair, just to have it hang limply at the end of the day because of humidity?
when you wake up in the morning and your throat hurts because you didn't have any water all night and then it hurts for the rest of the day?
when you accidentally choke but not really and you can't talk so people think that you're dying?
when your favorite tv show isn't on?
when you're at a party, about to watch a movie, and they just happen to chose the one you hate?
when you get sweat stains in the armpits of your shirt?
when you're running out of makeup? (which I am)
when your favorite station is playing a dumb song by Lady Gaga so you change it to your other favorite station, just to find that they're playing the same thing?

Don't you love it
when you find a lot of sales while shopping?
when you have a perfect day planned out and it just happens?
in the summer, when you're driving and you roll down the windows and your favorite song is on the radio, so you turn it up really loud and sing and you don't even care who is listening?
when there's a marathon of The Office or That 70's Show?
when you go to the opening night of a movie that you've been waiting for for weeks?
when you get a great tan?
when you don't have a care in the world?

my English paper

in my college english class, we have to write a paper about the career field we're going into, so I'm writing about photography. I have to find out how much they usually make, educational requirements, benefits, etc...I guess it should be interesting. It's better than doing a boring research paper.
I'm just going to put down some links for myself since I'm not at home right now.

http://www.adigitaldreamer.com/articles/photography-salary.htm
photographers normally start out having a temp job with someone and building up from there, maybe becoming a freelance photographer and owning their own business with their own clients. Sound pretty legit to me.

the thunderstorm this morning was so cool! it only lasted for like 20 minutes, though. Michigan is so bipolar it's not even funny.

that reminds me of Relient K's song High of 75. Good stuff.
ciao, bella
so I guess I like blogging a little too much because I stayed up really late last night editing my page and stuff...ah well I'll write later.

june

hmm I've never had a blog before. Let's see how long this will last. And who will follow me?
I had the best weekend ever...on Friday after my morning class we left to go to Arcadia, which is up north near Traverse City, if you don't know. My grandparents have a cottage up there and we go to the family camp there. It's also on Lake Michigan so it's absolutely gorgeous :)
Mrs. Park is now the crafty lady up there and her and Chloe will be up all summer working. Their dog Ryley is now the camp dog, even though normally, they wouldn't allow animals. She loves all the attention. We spent all weekend painting the whole craft shop (the floors and shelves) and cleaned it out because it was pretty dirty and old. Also, we went swimming, mostly because Chloe and Sara and I wanted to go out to the island that camp now has. Yeah, we have an island. It's pretty awesome. Apparently, we were running out of beach sand and so they took some from the channel or something and dumped it all in the lake and now there's an island :D
also, you can see a lot of Minnehaha
Yesterday, on our way home, we stopped at Birch Run outlet mall and everyone was having huge sales, which was awesome. I went to Old Navy because the whole store was 40% (oh yeah) so I got a few things there. Also, Rue 21 was having some sales. I wish that they weren't only an outlet mall store...I want to shop there more often. Anyway, I got a huge bag of stuff for like 50 bucks. I was very proud.

Today, I thought I was supposed to go into work (I work at a restaurant called Asian Fuzion as a waitress), but of course, when I got there, the other worker was like "You're not working today" and I was like "...FML"
so anyway
I spent all day doing homework and then tanning, reading, and swimming. it was pretty good.
tomorrow I go back to school...I hope it's nice weather.
Thursday I'm going to courtney's after school to hang out and swim with her and kaitlyn. Also, I have to plan kaitlyn's party because she's too lazy haha.
Friday...I only have a morning class because..I can because I'm in college. Oh yeah.
then that night I'm going on a leadership retreat with St. Luke's youth group for the weekend...should be awesome!
hmm I think that was kinda fun, I'll probably write later. But I should go to bed because I have school tomorrow :(
